Support for NHS students
From September 2012, all new eligible NHS students are eligible to receive a £1,000 non-means-tested grant plus a means-tested bursary and a fixed rate Maintenance Loan. The following tables show typical support available to students on a 30 week course or a 45 week course.
For students studying up to 30 weeks each year, you will receive:

In addition to the basic bursary and maintenance loan, you can also apply for a number of additional allowances if you meet specific criteria. These allowances provide support to disabled students and additional support for students with dependent adults and children. You will also be able to claim help with travel costs to your placements, if you incur additional costs to those incurred when travelling to university.
